2010 TNA Impact Reviews

1/4/10 Impact

Steel Asylum Match: Pretty bad opener as you could hardly see what was going on and it had a DQ finish. Jeff Hardy's debut was great though.

Tara vs. ODB: Pretty good KO title match outside of the booking. Tara lost the title back to ODB only to win it back at Genesis.

Lashley/Kristal segment: Wasn't much of a segment as it was basically them asking for their release.

Hogan segment: This involves Hogan, Bischoff, Nash, Hall, and Waltman. Good segment because it started a new storyline and involved Bischoff ripping up the old script, a symbolic message that's saying "out with the old, in with the new".

Hamada/Awesome Kong vs. Sarita/Taylor Wilde: Very good KO tag title match with Kong and Hamada winning the belts.

Raven/Dr. Stevie vs. Hernandez/Matt Morgan: Complete squash.

Desmond Wolfe vs. D'Angelo Dinero: Very solid midcard match with Dinero winning.

Jarrett/Hogan segment: This wasn't as good as the segment earlier but it was still pretty interesting as it basically told the truth in that while Jarrett found the company, it was pretty much staying in neutral and not building new stars.

Samoa Joe vs. Abyss: Pretty solid match.

AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle: Very good TNA title main event with AJ getting the clean win after the 450 splash.

This show got off to a slow start but picked up steam in the last two hours. The opening match and the strip poker hurt this show but all the matches in the second hour minus the squash, the Nasty Boys' antics, and the debuts of Flair and Jeff Hardy really outweighed the bad.

Grade: B+

1/14/10 Impact

Generation Me vs. Motor City Machine Guns: Really good opening match and a nice change of pace from the usual opening promo.

Angle/AJ segment: Really good segment... AJ/Angle is made for Genesis and Tomko's revealed as AJ's attacker.

Beautiful People vs. Awesome Kong/Hamada: Decent match and Angelina returns to attack Velvet...

Lethal Consequences vs. Team 3D: LC got buried pretty much getting attacked by Lashley before their match and then getting squashed by 3D... the stuff with 3D and the Nasty Boys afterwards was good though.

Morley/Daniels segment: This was pretty good and started a feud between them, which is fine.

Matt Morgan/Hernandez vs. Beer Money: Very solid tag match.

"The Band" segment: This was pretty good.

Desmond Wolfe vs. Samoa Joe: Decent match, albeit short.

AJ Styles vs. Tomko: The only real low point of the night.

A very entertaining show with good wrestling matches and very good PPV build considering that TNA only had two weeks to work with.

Grade: A

1/21/10 Impact

Opening segment: Very good promo exchange between Angle, Flair, Hogan, and the newly heel turned AJ Styles. It made the main event too which is good.

Matt Morgan/Hernandez vs. British Invasion: Decent tag title match.

Orlando Jordan vs. D'Angelo Dinero: Not a great match and Jordan actually won... putting a career jobber in Jordan over one of your rising stars is VERY dumb booking.

Angelina Love vs. Madison Rayne: This was pretty much a squash match.

Hogan/Hall/Syxx-Pac segment: This wasn't much of a segment as the only thing it accomplished was Hogan firing "The Band".

Nasty Boys vs. Kevin Nash/Eric Young: This match was as bad as expected.

Mr. Anderson promo: This was very good with Abyss behind Anderson, who was bragging about his win over him at Genesis, pretty much the whole time.

Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles: Their usual good match but the "Orlando screwjob" was just as bad of an idea as WWE making a feud based on the Montreal screwjob that happened 13 years ago (luckily they added Cena and Batista to it to give it a much needed second dimension). It came off VERY cheap and made TNA REALLY look like a WWE wannabe.

Final segment: This was a very good cliffhanger with Bischoff firing Foley although the stupidity of the main event aftermath made this less effective than it should have been.

Not a great Impact at all as the wrestling quality was pretty substandard and a lot of the show just felt thrown together.

Grade: D+

1/28/10 Impact

Opening segment: Very good promo exchange between Hogan and Foley.

Desmond Wolfe vs. Sean Morley: Pretty good 8-Card Stud tournament qualifier.

Hernandez vs. Daniels: Pretty good 8-Card Stud tournament qualifier.

Team 3D/Nasty Boys segment: Great promo exchange between the two teams to build their match at Against All Odds. While it definitely won't be a workrate classic the build has been VERY well done.

Beautiful People vs. Awesome Kong/Hamada/Tara: Pretty decent knockouts tag match.

Angle/Hogan segment: A pretty good segment to advance their storyline, much like Foley/Hogan earlier.

Motor City Machine Guns/Brian Kendrick vs. Amazing Red/Generation Me: Pretty good X Division tag match.

Doug Williams vs. Amazing Red: Williams wins the X Division title in a squash after cashing in his FoF case. Not much else to it except for the continuation of the Rob Terry face turn build.

Mr. Anderson vs. Jeff Jarrett: Great main event match, nothing more.

Awesome Impact all around. Full of good wrestling, solid promos, and the booking was very good throughout.

Grade: A

2/4/10 Impact

Mr. Anderson vs. Brutus Magnus: Decent match at best... nothing special.

Bischoff/Foley segment: Very good promo exchange between the two although the main event that it made didn't exactly interest me.

Hernandez/Matt Morgan vs. Team 3D: Not a great tag title match considering the clash of styles and that both teams were faces.

Samoa Joe vs. Jesse Neal: Boring squash match...

AJ Styles vs. D'Angelo Dinero: Very good match with Dinero beating the TNA champion, though it made Dinero's loss to OJ last week baffling.

Joe/AJ segment: VERY good segment to build towards their title match at Against All Odds.

Tonko vs. Kurt Angle: Pretty good 8-Card Stud tournament qualifier.

Tara vs. Angelina Love: Pretty good Knockouts title match.

Kevin Nash vs. Mick Foley: Pretty bad main event.

This was a solid show though not nearly as good as last week due to a couple of the matches in the first hour and the main event.

Grade: B

2/11/10 Impact

Opening segment: Pretty good promo exchange between Hogan and Eric Young to set up the main storyline for the rest of the show with The Band's entrance into the Impact Zone.

Orlando Jordan vs. D'Angelo Dinero: Very dull 8-Card Stud qualifier but the right person won this time.

Matt Morgan vs. Suicide: Pretty decent 8-Card Stud qualifier.

Doug Williams vs. Amazing Red: Pretty good X Division title match.

Tara/Angelina Love vs. Beautiful People: Pretty good knockouts tag match.

Mr. Anderson/Kurt Angle vs. Hernandez/Desmond Wolfe: Pretty good tag match with a well-booked finish in Anderson stealing the pin from Angle after he hit the Olympic Slam on Wolfe.

Joe/AJ segment: Great promo exchange between the two that put over AJ's new heel character even more.

Final segment: Angle calls out Hall and Syxx-Pac and gets beat on by them with brass knucks until Hogan hints at being cahoots with them until he hits Hall and Syxx-Pac with the knucks to save Angle. Very interesting cliffhanger.

Another extremely solid Impact. Good wrestling and great PPV build throughout and while guys like Hogan, Hall, and Waltman are in TNA now, they're not fighting over the title either.

Grade: A

2/18/10 Impact

Opening segment: Very good segment that started the AJ/Dinero feud and further put AJ over as a heel.

Tara vs. Daffney: Pretty good match with a very cool aftermath.

Samoa Joe vs. Orlando Jordan: Very dull match, mainly because of Orlando, and beating Joe, the #1 contender at AAO? Hmmm...

Amazing Red/Kazarian/Generation Me vs. Doug Williams/Brian Kendrick/Motor City Machine Guns: Pretty good X Division tag match.

Jeff Jarrett vs. Abyss: Very solid match with an interesting storyline throughout in Bischoff forcing Jarrett to use the barbed wire baseball bat. The aftermath was cool too.

British Invasion vs. Beer Money: Pretty good match with Rob Terry turning on Brutus after the match.

Kurt Angle vs. Daniels: Absolute squash.

Angle/Anderson segment: GREAT promo exchange from Angle and Anderson to start their feud.

Final segment: Pretty good segment involving Nash, Hall, and Waltman with a good cliffhanger for next week's show.

Overall, another great Impact that was much better than it looked in the spoilers. Outside of Joe/OJ, Angle/Daniels, and Abyss' part of the backstage skit with Hogan everything clicked. Set up next week's show perfectly as well.

Grade: B+

2/25/10 Impact

Opening segment: This segment was a Flair/AJ vs. Hogan/Abyss promo exchange regarding the HoF ring Hogan gave Abyss and the heels telling Abyss to take it off and give it to AJ. The mic work was good but I just couldn't get past the fact that the storyline is based off a ring that the rival promotion, WWE, gave him.

Nasty Boys vs. Team 3D: Not a very good tables match... the Nastys are good outside of the ring but definitely not inside of the ring.

ODB vs. Daffney: Pretty decent match to get Daffney over as a psycho, nothing more.

Beer Money segment: A good promo exchange between them and Morgan/Hernandez where a tag title match between the two teams is made.

Jarrett/Bischoff segment: A segment that ends in Bischoff making Jarrett flip burgers. Ugh...

Kazarian vs. Brian Kendrick: Decent match where Kazarian becomes #1 contender for the X Division title.

Rob Terry vs. Mr. Anderson: Good promo before the match that never was a match... Terry won after a chair shot from Angle on the stage and a running powerslam.

Abyss vs. Desmond Wolfe: Abyss won in a complete squash...

Final segment: The main event for 3/8 is made in Hogan/Abyss vs. AJ/Flair. Decent segment to finish the show.

This show was good at advancing angles and setting up March 8th, but there was less than 15 minutes of wrestling and much of the show revolved around an angle about a WWE HoF ring and the founder of the company flipping burgers. Can't give this one even an average score because the last few shows were just awesome while this wasn't.

Grade: C-

3/4/10 Impact

Opening segment: Pretty good segment that made the main event.

Motor City Machine Guns vs. Hernandez/Matt Morgan vs. Beer Money vs. Generation Me: Pretty good four way tag match.

Sean Morley vs. Jeff Jarrett: A fairly short but entertaining falls count anywhere match that took place in the bathroom.

Doug Williams vs. Rob Terry: The X Division champ gets absolutely squashed in this match. Way to put over the division guys.

Angle/Anderson segment: An excellent segment to build their feud with Anderson doing a very hilarious parody of Angle.

Velvet/Angelina segment: Pretty good segment that resulted in Velvet and the rest of the BP attacking Angelina with the leather strap.

Jeff Jarrett vs. Tomko: Pretty decent match.

AJ Styles vs. Abyss vs. Desmond Wolfe vs. D'Angelo Dinero: Pretty good main event despite them wasting Dinero's title shot in a 4 way TV main event.

A decent show due to the excellent in-ring promos though some of the booking didn't really click (Dinero's title shot wasted in a 4 way TV main event, Williams getting squashed by Terry) and the Foley skits weren't much better either.

Grade: B-

3/8/10 Impact

Hulk Hogan/Abyss vs. Ric Flair/AJ Styles: Not much of a match though that wasn't the point as the focus of this was on Sting's surprise heel turn and remaking this same match later in the show, only no DQ this time.

Kazarian/Daniels/Williams segment: A good promo exchange between the three that made the next match and put over the X Division pretty well.

Doug Williams vs. Kazarian vs. Christopher Daniels: Very good X Division title match and Shannon Moore is announced as Willliams' next challenger after the match.

Sarita/Taylor Wilde vs. Beautiful People vs. Tara/Angelina Love: A pretty decent match for the KO tag titles, though a bit shorter than I expected it to be.

Sting vs. Rob Van Dam: This lasted a few seconds at most but this was good in the sense in that RVD is finally in TNA and Sting attacking RVD, a very popular face, with the bat after the match is a good way to make him more over as a heel.

Nash/Hall/Waltman segment: This was pretty good in that it made a match for Destination X between Hall/Waltman against Nash/Young (the possibility of Nash turning heel again has me interested in this match despite it having little chance of being an in-ring classic). It also made the next match.

Syxx-Pac vs. Eric Young: Another ridiculously short match though it was booked perfectly.

Angle/Anderson segment: Best in-ring talking segment of the entire show which resulted in Anderson badmouthing the armed forces who were at ringside and Angle beating on him and throwing him to the troops so they could get some as well. Excellent segment all around.

Beer Money vs. Jeff Jarrett: A pretty good match for a handicap match as it wasn't a complete squash and Beer Money rightfully won the match.

AJ Styles/Ric Flair vs. Hulk Hogan/Abyss: A pretty solid main event considering that Hogan and Flair are well past their primes and Abyss pinned Styles cleanly, making him look like a credible challenger. Jeff Hardy's redebut was pretty good as well.

A very good Impact to start off with on Mondays. While the show had its fair share of one minute or less matches the stuff surrounding them was compelling, Hardy and RVD's debuts were very well done and the main event and X Division matches really delivered.

Grade: B+

3/15/10 Impact

Opening segment: A very good segment which made the main event of AJ Styles vs. Jeff Hardy.

Nasty Boys/Jimmy Hart vs. Team 3D/Brother Runt: Pretty bad match.

Mr. Anderson/Desmond Wolfe vs. Kurt Angle/D'Angelo Dinero: Pretty good tag match with awesomeness afterward with Anderson carving Angle's head with the chain, cutting a promo on him, and then beating on him with the microphone multiple times.

Angelina Love vs. Daffney: This was basically just an angle pretty much to advance both KO feuds.

Hogan/Sting segment: A pretty decent segment because it progressed the Sting/RVD feud.

Kevin Nash vs. Scott Hall: Pretty boring 5 minute $25,000 Challenge match.

Hernandez vs. Beer Money: Pretty good handicap match with the right people winning and helped establish Beer Money as heels again.

Foley/Bischoff segment: An actually decent segment considering previous weeks, mainly due to Bischoff getting his head shaved, which I wasn't expecting at all and their charisma made the segment work.

X Division segment: Very good segment that hyped both the Ultimate X and ladder matches and continued to give the division more focus.

Jeff Hardy vs. AJ Styles: Very good main event with Hardy winning, which should put him next in line for a title shot if Hardy wins on Sunday, which he should.

A pretty solid storyline-based show, even if it was a little underwhelming after last week's excellent show.

Grade: B

3/22/10 Impact

Opening segment: Pretty solid segment with Bischoff playing the guitar to mock Jarrett saying that he actually plays it whereas Jarrett uses it as a prop, dared Jarrett to hit him with it, and he finally did after Bischoff said that he "didn't have the stones" to do it. This made a Foley/Jarrett match for later where the loser leaves TNA.

Beautiful People/Daffney vs. Tara/Sarita/Taylor Wilde/Angelina Love: Decent match though a bit too choreographed at the end with everybody hitting their finisher on the other until it returned to where it started.

Hogan/Abyss/Flair/AJ segment: A very good segment to build towards the Lethal Lockdown match.

Rob Terry vs. Tomko: This was pretty much a squash, and an ugly one at that.

Mick Foley vs. Jeff Jarrett: This was actually a very solid match with Jarrett losing, thus Foley leaves TNA. Beer Money attack Jarrett after the match and RVD and Jeff Hardy come to the rescue, which ends up making the main event.

Hernandez vs. Matt Morgan: Pretty solid big man match with Morgan kicking Hernandez' head into the ringpost to get him more over as a heel at the end.

Beer Money vs. Jeff Hardy/Rob Van Dam: Very good main event and Hardy/RVD/Eric Young vs. The Band is made for next week. Booking in advance is awesome.

Very good episode of Impact except for the Terry/Tomko match as it progressed lots of storylines and the wrestling was very good, though I realized that Samoa Joe was kidnapped by mysterious people around a month ago, and no progress has been made since. Weird...

Grade: A

3/29/10 Impact

Opening segment: A very good promo exchange to build up the main event, which is now taking place in a steel cage.

Doug Williams/Brian Kendrick vs. Kazarian/Shannon Moore: Pretty solid X Division tag match.

Dinero segment: This was basically a good segment to remind the fans of his title match at Lockdown (so they DIDN'T waste his title shot in the 4 way!) and build up his match with Desmond Wolfe later with Wolfe's valet Chelsea trying to distract him so Wolfe could attack from behind, which Dinero saw coming.

Tara vs. Daffney: Very good KO title first blood match with the right person winning.

Jeff Jarrett vs. AJ Styles: Very good match as expected and the right person won again, because if Jarrett won, it would have made it obvious that AJ would be retaining at Lockdown.

Jay Lethal vs. Beer Money: Pretty good handicap match, and while Lethal did beat them, it made perfect booking sense.

Desmond Wolfe vs. D'Angelo Dinero: Pretty good match as expected.

Angle/Anderson segment: Very good segment as usual, though it made Angle/Anderson next week in a ladder match before their match at Lockdown.

Band vs. Rob Van Dam/Jeff Hardy/Eric Young: Much better match than I expected considering that every member of the heel team is getting up there in age. The faces winning was the right move.

Another excellent Impact. Outside of booking Angle/Anderson for free before their Lockdown match and the weird Orlando Jordan segment which had nothing to cover, everything clicked. The X Division continues to get more focus, the right people are winning their matches, no Abyss until the very end, and there was FINALLY an update on Samoa Joe!

Grade: A

4/5/10 Impact

Opening segment: Very good segment to build the Lethal Lockdown match, as well as the next match.

Rob Van Dam vs. James Storm: Very solid match as expected and the post match stuff was great.

Rob Terry vs. Homicide: Complete squash match pretty much.

Daffney/Beautiful People vs. Tara/Angelina Love/ODB/Hamada: A pretty good "Lockbox Showdown" match with the right people winning.

Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Anderson: VERY good ladder match despite the match already being booked for Lockdown.

Team 3D vs. Motor City Machine Guns: Very good #1 contendership match until the bad ending with The Band attacking both teams.

Band promo: While the mic work involved was entertaining, a 3D/Outsiders feud doesn't appeal to me as much as the 3D/Nastys feud did, probably because that was the first time in a LONG time that the Nastys appeared on TV so the nostalgia factor set in.

Doug Williams vs. Generation Me: Pretty decent gauntlet match as the right person won while Generation Me got a decent amount of offense in the process.

D'Angelo Dinero vs. Desmond Wolfe: Decent for what it was though disappointingly short. AJ attacking Dinero after the match was great though.

Final segment: The Locboxes were opened... Velvet won open contract, Tara won Poison, Angelina won KO title, and Daffney had to do a striptease, where Lacey Von Erich attacked Daffney before she ever really got going and did one of her own while Tara and Angelina were brawling in the ring. Yeah.

The lockbox stuff was pretty bad outside of the match, as was Homicide getting squashed and the burial of the Guns, though there were much worse Impacts in 2010 than this.

Grade: C

4/12/10 Impact

Opening segment: Really good segment to build Lethal Lockdown with Jarrett attacking Sting in the rafters demanding answers until Sting knocked him out with the baseball bat.

Team 3D/Jesse Neal vs. The Band: Pretty solid streetfight that will probably be better than any of the PPV matches that came out of the match.

Kazarian vs. Shannon Moore: Very good X Division match that was booked perfectly with a time limit draw as neither guy looked weak.

Angelina Love vs. Velvet Sky I Quit match: Not a good match at all as Angelina was handcuffed throughout and the match didn't have a finish at all.

Matt Morgan/Amazing Red vs. Motor City Machine Guns: Good match, bad booking with Morgan himself retaining the belts as he attacked Red after the match. The Guns winning the belts would have been great here as it would have allowed the tag division to be taken off hold.

Jeff Hardy vs. Robert Roode: Pretty good match and more Lethal Lockdown build with Hardy and RVD being taken out after the match..

AJ Styles/Desmond Wolfe vs. D'Angelo Dinero/Jay Lethal: Not really a match but basically a segment to hype Lethal Lockdown and the title match.

A similar show to last week, with decent PPV build but bad booking with Morgan beating the Guns by himself, and other stuff such as Abyss getting "run over" by a ar going probably 5 MPH. Yeah.

Grade: C+

4/19/10 Impact

Opening segment: Very good segment that made a RVD vs. Jeff Hardy #1 contendership match with the winner facing AJ Styles for the world title in the main event.

Beautiful People vs. Daffney/ODB: The only real low point of the show...

Team Flair/Team Hogan segment: A pretty good segment that made a Lethal Lockdown rematch for later in the show with a mystery partner as the 4th man for Team Hogan.

Rob Van Dam vs. Jeff Hardy: Very good #1 contender's match with RVD winning and getting a shot at AJ Styles in the main event.

Team Flair vs. Team Hogan: Very good Lethal Lockdown rematch even though it wasn't the actual PPV match, with Samoa Joe as the mystery partner. Great way to have him return.

Rob Van Dam vs. AJ Styles: Very good world title match with RVD winning the title and a great celebration after the match.

Very good wrestling-based Impact with three really good matches.

Grade: A

4/26/10 Impact

Opening segment: Decent AJ/RVD promo exchange.

Madison Rayne vs. Tara vs. Angelina Love: Solid match.

Kazarian vs. Shannon Moore: Solid match.

Sting/AJ Styles vs. Jeff Hardy/Jeff Jarrett: Solid match.

Pope/Anderson promo: Very good promo exchange as expected.

Matt Morgan/Jesse Neal vs. Team 3D: Not a great match.

Abyss vs. Ric Flair: Bad and screwy main event.

Solid show, though a step down from last week.

Grade: B

5/3/10 Impact

Opening segment: Very good segment where Jay Lethal impersonated Ric Flair and got beat up by AJ Styles, Beer Money, and Desmond Wolfe until Team 3D and RVD come in for the save.

Ink Inc. vs. Douglas Williams/Brian Kendrick: Bland match due to Ink Inc. though this started the Kendrick face turn.

Anderson/Hardy segment: Very good promo exchange to build their match at Sacrifice.

Tara/Sarita/Taylor Wilde vs. Beautiful People: Very short and sloppy match.

Beer Money vs. Team 3D vs. Motor City Machine Guns: Good match until it ended with no result.

O-Zone: Orlando Jordan's talk show segment which built his feud with Rob Terry over the Global title. Meh...

AJ Styles vs. Abyss: A 5 minute Monster's Ball match.

Rob Van Dam vs. Desmond Wolfe: A 3 minute main event.

Final segment: Very boring and confusing promo exchange involving Sting and Hogan.

TNA's final Monday night Impact and it was a mess... the final two matches were way shorter than what they should have been and the show just felt very uneven.

Grade: D+

5/13/10 Impact

Opening segment: Very good promo exchange between RVD, Jeff Hardy, and AJ Styles that made the main event.

Tara vs. Taylor Wilde: A very rushed match that put Tara over as a heel.

Brian Kendrick vs. Douglas Williams: Decent match with Kendrick winning, and thus making him #1 contender for the X Division title.

Matt Morgan segment: He was scheduled to face Generation Me, but squashes them before the bell rings so no match. He goes to injure one of them but Samoa Joe comes out to give him a musclebuster. Then The Band come out to cash in their title shot and Nash successfuly pinned Morgan after he was down on the mat for what felt like ages. Hardly anything good came out of this.

Team 3D vs. Beer Money vs. Ink Inc. vs. Motor City Machine Guns: Solid match with Ink Inc. winning and thus becoming #1 contenders for the tag titles.

Rob Terry vs. Abyss: Another non-match as Abyss gets arrested and Orlando Jordan attacks Terry in the ring.

Orlando Jordan vs. Tomko: Bad match in which OJ actually wins cleanly.

Tara vs. Sarita: The same as the match with Taylor earlier pretty much.

AJ Styles vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Jeff Hardy: Pretty solid main event.

Another bad show that was probably worse than last week. Lots of rushed matches again.

Grade: D+

5/27/10 Impact

Opening segment: Very solid promo exchange between Anderson, Hardy, and AJ Styles, which ends up making AJ vs. Anderson as the main event.

Ink Inc. vs. The Band vs. Team 3D: Okay match at best, nothing special.

Kazarian vs. Jay Lethal: Very solid match that serves to advance the Lethal/Flair feud.

Orlando Jordan vs. Abyss: Very boring match.

RVD/Sting segment: A pretty good segment to build their title match at Slammiversary.

Beautiful People vs. Taylor Wilde/Sarita: Bad match and bad midget stuff after the match too.

Desmond Wolfe vs. Jeff Hardy: Very solid match.

Morgan promo: Pretty good with Morgan inviting anyone in the back to be his partner for the tag title rematch at Slammiversary, calling out Angle, who was still at the announce table, and then Samoa Joe coming out to chase Morgan out of the ring.

AJ Styles vs. Mr. Anderson: Very good main event match in which the aftermatch stuff further established that Anderson is now a face.

Pretty good Impact with solid matches and good Slammiversary buildup.

Grade: B

6/3/10 Impact

Opening segment: Solid Sting/Joe brawl.

Roxxi vs. Rosie Lottalove: Terrible match.

Jay Lethal vs. AJ Styles vs. Kazarian: Solid match.

Hardy/Anderson/Beer Money promo: Very good and led to the next two matches.

Jeff Hardy vs. James Storm: Solid match.

Robert Roode vs. Mr. Anderson: Decent match.

Abyss/Rob Terry vs. Desmond Wolfe/Orlando Jordan: Terrible match.

Samoa Joe/Rob Van Dam vs. Matt Morgan/Sting: Decent main event.

Another solid Impact.

Grade: B+

6/10/10 Impact

Opening segment: Very good segment that made the main event.

Brian Kendrick vs. Homicide: Very solid match.

Ink Inc./Team 3D segment: A pretty good segment to build their Slammiversary match.

Matt Morgan/Hernandez vs. The Band: Hogan announces Hernandez as Morgan's partner, Hernandez leaves him laying, and The Band come out to pin Morgan a little later. Okay at best as the "match" was rather pointless after the attack.

Kurt Angle vs. Amazing Red: A very good match considering that Angle's MUCH higher on the totem pole than Red is.

AJ Styles/Desmond Wolfe/Beer Money vs. Jeff Hardy/Jay Lethal/Mr. Anderson/Abyss: Very good 8 man tag.

Sting/Rob Van Dam segment: A very solid brawl to hype up their title match at Slammiversary.

A very good show to build up Slammiversary, and the only real flaw was the tag title "match".

Grade: A

6/24/10 Impact

Opening segment: A very good segment that started the Abyss "they" storyline and made the main event.

Angelina Love vs. Velvet Sky: Not much of a match but it served its purpose.

Morgan promo: A pretty good promo to get him more over as a heel by calling out Hernandez, who was in Mexico that day. Homicide comes out and gets his head kicked into the ring post.

Jay Lethal vs. Kazarian: Very good match to continue Lethal's push.

Jeff Jarrett vs. Sting: No real match but a decent angle nonetheless.

Kurt Angle vs. Desmond Wolfe: Pretty good match with Angle moving into the #9 spot as a result.

Williams/Kendrick segment: A very good segment to build up their X Division title match at Victory Road.

Beer Money vs. Ink Inc.: Solid match with the right team winning.

Abyss vs. Mr. Anderson: Pretty good main event match that pushed the fact that Abyss was a monster again.

A very solid episode of Impact aside from Angelina/Velvet, and even that served its purpose.

Grade: A

7/1/10 Impact

Opening segment: Very good segment to build the Victory Road main event and the "they" storyline, which is MUCH better than anything Abyss has been involved in for quite a while.

Motor City Machine Guns vs. Ink Inc.: Pretty good tag match with the Guns winning, which was the right move.

Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles: Pretty much the usual match these two have together, which is very good.

Brian Kendrick vs. Desmond Wolfe: Decent submission match despite Desmond losing once again.

Angle/Dinero promo: Dinero returns after his injury and Angle comes out to say that Dinero's next in his quest as he's #8 and Angle's #9, thus making a match between them at Victory Road. Very good segment.

Lethal/Morgan promo: A pretty good promo exchange that lead to a match.

Jay Lethal vs. Matt Morgan: Pretty decent match with good booking in Jay winning and Morgan not looking weak in the process.

Madison Rayne vs. Taylor Wilde: Decent KO title match, albeit short.

Dixie/Sting/Bischoff segment: Sting ends up being suspended for 30 days out of this and Sting keeps asking Dixie if she can see what's really going on in TNA. Interesting...

Jeff Hardy vs. Abyss: Pretty good match with good Victory Road build after the match.

A very good Impact full of quality wrestling and nothing real bad outside of Wolfe tapping out to Kendrick.

Grade: A

7/8/10 Impact

Opening segment: Very good segment to build the 4 way main event at Victory Road.

AJ Styles vs. Kazarian: Very solid match that was well booked as the countout finish prevented either of them from looking weak.

Angelina Love vs. Daffney: Pretty much a squash but the Love/Rayne promo exchange afterwards did a solid job of building up their match at Victory Road.

Team 3D/Ink Inc. segment: A solid promo exchange that built up Bubba vs. Devon vs. Jesse well.

Rob Van Dam vs. Samoa Joe: Very good match that was well booked with RVD winning and Joe still looking very strong.

Douglas Williams vs. Jeremy Buck: A 4 minute ladder match but it did a damn good job of establishing that Williams is afraid of heights, adding intrigue to the Ultimate X match.

Beer Money/Matt Morgan vs. Hernandez/Motor City Machine Guns: Very solid match that built up two feuds in one.

Lethal/Flair segment: Another excellent promo exchange to build their match at Victory Road.

Jeff Hardy vs. Mr. Anderson: Decent main event and good main event hype after the match.

Very good go-home episode of Impact with lots of quality wrestling.

Grade: A

7/29/10 Impact

Opening segment: This ECW promo was very inferior to the promo that ended last week's show but it still built up Hardcore Justice nicely and made the main event.

Angelina Love vs. Sarita: This match was surprisingly sloppy... Angelina's now #1 contender.

Orlando Jordan/Eric Young vs. Ink Inc.: While the mannequin thing was slightly amusing due to Young's charisma, the match wasn't very good and the whole thing felt like filler.

Fortune segment: Beer Money are the newest members... that was basically it. Not bad at all but nothing really noteable either.

Beer Money vs. Motor City Machine Guns: Very good PPV quality cage match with the Guns winning, making them only down 2-1 to Beer Money.

Morgan/Anderson segment: A very good promo exchange until the thing with the security guards, which was just bizarre.

Rob Terry vs. Kazarian: Kazarian gets squashed in 30 seconds by Rob Terry... this is a good thing if you DON'T want Fortune to be taken seriously.

Jeff Hardy/Mr. Anderson vs. Matt Morgan/Security Guards: A very bland match that didn't really advance anything.

Abyss/RVD/Bischoff segment: Abyss/RVD is announced for August 12 and they have an encounter after Abyss threatens Bischoff with Janice. Good build.

Abyss vs. Tommy Dreamer: Pretty decent hardcore match and the aftermath with Raven laying out Dreamer is good build for Hardcore Justice.

While this show had an awesome cage match and built up Hardcore Justice very well, much of the show felt like absolute filler and the quality of the show suffered, probably due to the regular TNA roster not having a PPV to build to this month. Also, Kazarian getting squashed by Rob Terry? Who thought that was a good idea?

Grade: C- (would have been lower but Beer Money/MCMG was just THAT good)

8/5/10 Impact

Opening segment: An okay segment to build Hardcore Justice and make the main event.

Beautiful People vs. Taylor Wilde/Hamada: Taylor and Hamada win the KO tag titles here in a very bad match.N

Rob Terry vs. AJ Styles: Not a great match as it was basically Terry doing moves, then AJ hits the 450 splash to retain the TV title.

Beer Money vs. Motor City Machine Guns: Another awesome match between these two teams in an Ultimate X match, with the Guns winning and tying the series as a result.

Nash/Hogan segment: Not very good as it only featured guys who were in their primes 15 years ago or even longer, and showed why TNA needs to find an identity.

Orlando Jordan vs. D'Angelo Dinero: A very "meh" filler match.

Jay Lethal vs. Ric Flair: A very entertaining street fight that Michael Cole would call "Vintage" Flair.

Rob Van Dam/Tommy Dreamer vs. Abyss/Raven: Okay main event match at best as RVD and Dreamer did a good job of carrying the match.

Another weak show. The show was lacking in quality wrestling outside of the Ultimate X and street fight, and the show quality suffers when most of your roster won't be on the next PPV, as only the stuff involving ECW guys really built to something.

Grade: C-

8/12/10 Impact (The Whole F'n Show)

Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles: Very good match to open the show, with Angle continuing to advance through the rankings.

Angelina Love vs. Madison Rayne: A very solid KO title match with Love winning the belt.

Matt Morgan vs. Mr. Anderson vs. D'Angelo Dinero: A 4 minute match, but a very good 4 minute match though as they got a lot in during those 4 minutes.

Jeff Hardy vs. Shannon Moore: Another good match and while Shannon as the mystery opponent is anticlimatic on paper, both these guys have history with each other and with Helms signing with TNA, it's a good way to build to something.

Beer Money vs. Motor City Machine Guns: An awesome 2 out of 3 falls match with MCMG surprisingly retaining the titles considering how they've been used compared to Beer Money for most of their TNA runs as a team.

Rob Van Dam vs. Abyss: A very good "Stairway to Janice" match with RVD surprisingly retaining the title.

Final segment: Hogan praises the ECW guys for raising the bar at Hardcore Justice until the lights go out. When they come back on, Beer Money, AJ Styles, Kazarian, Matt Morgan, and Douglas Williams (Fortune) are in the ring and brutally beat down the ECW guys. Abyss comes back out to lay out RVD backstage. Meanwhile, Hogan somehow disappeared after the lights came back on. VERY INTERESTING... great segment and the "they" angle isn't screwed up either.

Best Impact ever. Every match was solid at the very least, the booking and writing all made sense, and the final segment was just epic.

Grade: A

8/26/10 Impact

Opening segment: Very dull segment due to Dixie and Hogan's usual schtick, despite Fourtune being involved and this making the main event.

Samoa Joe vs. Orlando Jordan: Not a great match, though Joe got his win back over OJ.

Kevin Nash vs. Jeff Jarrett: Very boring match with a weak finish.

Beer Money vs. FBI: Absolute squash.

Beautiful People/Rayne/biker segment: This feud is getting stale and the segment was full of dialogue you'd hear on Jerry Springer, but at least the girls in TNA actually have personalities.

Motor City Machine Guns vs. Generation Me: Very good match.

Abyss/Rhino brawl: Very good brawl to hype their match at No Surrender.

Fourtune vs. Kurt Angle/Jeff Hardy/Mr. Anderson/D'Angelo Dinero: Very solid main event with Dinero teasing a heel turn by blind tagging Angle and pinning Kazarian.

An okay show at best. Things picked up as soon as the MCMG/Generation Me match started but the first hour was VERY boring.

Grade: C-

9/2/10 Impact

Opening segment: Your typical stale Hogan "raising the bar" promo until Abyss mentions that "they" will arrive on 10/10/10, the date of Bound For Glory.

Beautiful People vs. Madison Rayne/Mystery Biker: Atrocious match with Rayne/Biker winning and the biker unmasking as Tara.

Abyss vs. Stevie Richards: Not much of a match until the surprise Stevie win. Abyss going into a match with Rhino yet he loses after one Steviekick?

EV 2.0/Fourtune promo: This was average at best though it did a good job of promoting their matches at No Surrender.

Sting vs. Jeff Jarrett: Nothing match though the long term booking that this is a part of looks promising.

MCMG/London Brawling promo: A very good segment that built their PPV match (though it never took place) and showcased their personalities very well.

Fourtune vs. EV 2.0 elimination match: This was the best match of the night and Fourtune won, which is a good thing.

Kurt Angle/Jeff Hardy vs. Mr. Anderson/D'Angelo Dinero: Wasn't as good as the elimination match but still good and built the tournament finals matches involving them very well.

A very boring Impact until the MCMG/London Brawling promo took place, then it started to pick up afterwards. Solid No Surrender build though so it doesn't get a terrible score.

Grade: C-

9/16/10 Impact

Opening segment: A solid segment that ended up making Angle/Hardy as the main event with the winner facing Anderson for the title at Bound For Glory.

Samoa Joe vs. Kevin Nash: A very "meh" match until the weak double countout finish.

Jay Lethal vs. Douglas Williams: Solid X Division title match though Lethal winning made it seem very rushed and the confetti after the match felt unnecessary considering that there was no real feud here and Lethal didn't have a storyline involving an X Division title chase either.

Hamada/Taylor Wilde vs. Madison Rayne/Lacey Von Erich: Very bad KO tag title match due to Lacey wrestling for half the match.

Dreamer/Fourtune promo: Very good promo where Dreamer puts over Fourtune, especially AJ who beat him in an I Quit match, and Fourtune STILL attacking Dreamer after he called for a truce between Fourtune and EV 2.0. Kendrick's promo challenging anyone from Fourtune to a match sounded a lot like an Ultimate Warrior promo...

Brian Kendrick vs. Matt Morgan: Not much of a match until the stupid booking of Kendrick winning after hitting a dropkick, which was his ONLY MOVE in the match.

Generation Me promo: It wasn't very good though it did explain their heel turn well.

Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Hardy: Very good main event though the double pin means that the match was made kinda pointless. Angle and Hardy both advance to the BFG main event as a result.

Another weak Impact. While it wasn't as boring as last week's, this week was a complete booking trainwreck and also included a lame backstage skit involving Abyss branding "10/10/10" on some guy as well. Yeah...

Grade: D+

9/23/10 Impact

Abyss vs. Rob Terry: Meh. A guy who used to be good and another who has the talent level of the giants WWE was pushing in 2005 makes for a very boring match.

Bischoff promos: Both the ones with RVD and Pope were okay, nothing mindblowing.

Chris Sabin vs. Jeremy Buck: Pretty solid match here, and the best of the show.

Beautiful People vs. Taylor Wilde/Hamada: This wasn't as sloppy as last week despite LVE spending half the match wrestling once again, but it was very boring and didn't have much heat.

Samoa Joe vs. D'Angelo Dinero: Two good workers, but it was very dull. The brawl afterwards was very boring too... just like with Undertaker and Kane on Smackdown, Sting, Nash, and Jarrett are VERY stale.

Anderson/Angle promo: Very good promo as expected from both.

AJ Styles vs. Sabu: A surprisingly boring ladder match here, as nothing exciting happened at all really, which is very underwhelming for a ladder match.

Abyss promo: This was just more "they" hype and built his match with RVD at BFG.

Another weak show here, which isn't a good sign heading into TNA's biggest PPV of the year.

Grade: D+

9/30/10 Impact

Opening segment: A solid promo from Kurt Angle and a brawl between him and Abyss that built the main event for the show.

Tommy Dreamer/Rhino vs. Beer Money: A good match and while Beer Money lost, EV 2.0 does need to win at times so the feud doesn't get too one sided.

Foley/Flair promo: An excellent promo exchange from two of the best promos in the wrestling business that really made me look forward to their Last Man Standing match next week.

Generation Me vs. Ink Inc.: Solid match here that established Generation Me as heels and the Guns run out to save Ink Inc. from the post match beatdown.

Mr. Anderson vs. Samoa Joe: Like Joe/Pope last week, this match was well below what both are capable of, though Anderson winning clean was actually a good move as Anderson looks very strong now heading into the BFG main event.

Sting/Nash/Pope/Bischoff promo: This was a solid promo exchange to further the "deception" angle.

AJ Styles vs. Brian Kendrick: Very solid match to continue the Fourtune/EV 2.0 angle.

Kurt Angle vs. Abyss: Very underwhelming cage match that ended with no result whatsoever.

A very solid show here... the matches were good for the most part as was the booking, the PPV build, and the in-ring promo segments.

Grade: B+

10/7/10 Impact (Before The Glory)

Opening segment: Abyss bringing out Dixie handcuffed to his arm and threatening her with "Bob", the branding iron, and "Janice", the 2x4 with nails sticking out of it, was bad, but the Bischoff/Pope promo exchange afterwards was solid and made Jarrett/Joe vs. Sting/Nash/Pope at BFG. Thankfully Hogan's not wrestling as he's not in the condition for it.

Angelina Love/Velvet Sky vs. Madison Rayne/Tara: Your typical KO match in 2010 (not good) and Angelina and Velvet win, thus own the "Beautiful People" trademark. Mickie's debut after the match was well done and she's the referee for the four way title match at BFG.

Ric Flair vs. Mick Foley: Not nearly as good as their Summerslam match in 2006 but still a good hardcore brawl despite the weird booking with Flair still not beating the 10 count even though he STOOD UP before the Flair flop. The Flair/Foley promo and Fourtune beatdown afterwards were very well done.

Bischoff/RVD promo: Bischoff calls out Abyss to fire him as it was Dixie's orders but RVD comes out and says that if Abyss is fired, they'll lose him as well because he wants his match. Dixie later allowed RVD to have his match, but Abyss will be fired after BFG, win or lose. Segment was what it was.

Orlando Jordan/Eric Young vs. Ink Inc.: Complete filler match and the aftermath results in this same match being booked for BFG despite there being no feud on Impact. Meh.

Shore promo: The gimmick leaves a lot to be desired but Robbie and Cookie really tried to make it work and even got heel heat inside the Impact Zone.

Main event battle royal: A complete mess that did very little to build BFG and Angle wins the cash.

A very boring show, which is a huge disappointment considering how good The Whole F'n Show was (as well as last year's Super Impact before BFG) and that this show is the show before TNA's equivalent to Wrestlemania. There wasn't much in terms of quality wrestling, the tag title match at BFG was never even mentioned, and the main event did very little to build interest in the PPV.

Grade: D

10/14/10 Impact

Opening segment: Decent segment in parts that pieced together the "they" angle, though it took 45 MINUTES to accomplish.

Nash/Sting segment: Nash and Sting walk out on the company until Pope tries to convince them otherwise.

Madison Rayne vs. Tara: The KO equivalent of the fingerpoke of doom/BATB 2000 as Tara lays down for Madison, losing her title in the process. This starts a Madison/Mickie feud, though this devalues the KO title.

Angle/Jarrett promo: Very good promo exchange that results in Jarrett taking out Angle.

Abyss vs. Samoa Joe: Not much of a match.

RVD promo: Your typical RVD promo until Jeff cuts a good backstage promo, calling himself the antichrist of wrestling. Bischoff makes RVD vs. Anderson in the main event.

D'Angelo Dinero vs. Fourtune: As good as a handicap match can get.

Jersey Shore segment: Very bad and results in a Cookie/J-Woww catfight.

Rob Van Dam vs. Mr. Anderson: Good main event with no result, though it put over Hardy as a heel.

Very hit/miss show. Very little wrestling at all, the KO title "match" gave vibes of dying WCW, and the Jersey Shore segment was just terrible AND on at the same time as Jersey Shore! The Angle/Jarrett and Hardy stuff was really good but the rest was just a cluster.

Grade: C

10/28/10 Impact

Opening brawl: This was a cluster, though it did make a KO tag match in advance and made it obvious that the Knockouts are important at least.

Pope/Abyss segment: Mediocre segment continuing their feud.

Jay Lethal vs. Robbie E: Solid match outside of Robbie winning.

EV 2.0 promo: Bad segment despite making a match, as EV 2.0 are still in TNA despite the angle not being interesting for a while.

Mickie James/Beautiful People vs. Madison Rayne/Tara/Sarita: Decent match.

Motor City Machine Guns vs. Ink Inc. Vs. Generation Me: Solid match and a good MCMG/3D promo exchange afterwards.

AJ Styles/Douglas Williams vs. Rob Van Dam/Raven: Decent match.

Jarrett/Morgan promo: Very bad as it turned Morgan face just TWO WEEKS after "they", and it was because he stood up for Anderson because he had a concussion, even though he kicked people in the head while they were against the ring steps and the ring post throughout his "we" run as tag champs. Logic gaps.

Jeff Jarrett vs. Matt Morgan: Bad "chain match" with Jarrett winning. Not only is Morgan's face turn rushed, he loses his first match as a face. Ugh.

Very mediocre show. Some good matches but the booking and writing were just very rushed.

Grade: C

11/4/10 Impact

Opening segment: Very mediocre with Bischoff kicking Morgan out of Fourtune and saying that Anderson has to pin him in order to get a title show.

Velvet Sky vs. Sarita: Not a great match.

Mickie James/Ink Inc. vs. Generation Me/Tara: Solid match.

Jarrett promo: Very good until Joe attacks him, resulting in a brawl.

AJ Styles vs. Rhino vs. Rob Van Dam: Good match.

Kazarian vs. Douglas Williams: Good match.

Abyss vs. D'Angelo Dinero: All angle.

Matt Morgan vs. Eric Bischoff: He gives Bischoff the carbon footprint for the win, then signs the contract. This is all very rushed.

Mediocre episode as this was based around Morgan's rushed face turn.

Grade: C

11/11/10 Impact

Opening segment: Decent promo where Hardy revealed his new custom title.

Jay Lethal/Taylor Wilde vs. Robbie E/Cookie: Not a great match.

Team 3D promo: Decent until Ray attacked Devon, setting up a feud between them.

Samoa Joe vs. Gunner/Murphy: Squash.

Rob Van Dam vs. Kazarian: Solid match.

AJ Styles vs. Stevie Richards: Solid match with AJ retaining the TV title.

Pope/Abyss segment: Another mediocre segment involving the casket to continue their feud.

Matt Morgan vs. Beer Money/Douglas Williams: Decent match outside of Morgan beating three members of the main heel stable CLEANLY. Terrible booking.

Another mediocre show with the talent tryng their hardest to overcome the bad booking and writing.

Grade: C

11/18/10 Impact

Opening segment: Very good Morgan/Flair promo exchange that makes the main event.

Motor City Machine Guns/Jay Lethal/Velvet Sky vs. Generation Me/Robbie E/Cookie: Solid match.

Jarrett MMA segment: This was very good with him demonstrating various submissions and saying he's an expert at them.

Samoa Joe vs. Students: Squash.

Jeff Hardy vs. Raven: Okay match with Raven being "fired" in an impromptu matchup. Ugh.

EV 2.0 segment: Very bad.

Abyss vs. Shannon Moore: Okay casket match but had no ending whatsoever.

Mickie James vs. Angelina Love: Solid match.

Brother Ray promo: Okay promo though a Ray vs. Devon feud still isn't appealing.

Matt Morgan vs. Ric Flair: Bad main event.

Better than the last few weeks though the booking was still questionable.

Grade: C+

12/9/10 Impact

Opening segment: Your typical Immortal promo.

Brother Ray/"Devon" vs. Ink Inc.: More of an angle than a match.

Tara/Mickie segment: Okay segment as everything after Tara lip-synching her own theme was good build for their cage match.

Motor City Machine Guns vs. Gunner/Murphy: Okay match.

Beautiful People vs. Sarita/Daffney: Very bad match.

Pope casket segment: Very bad segment.

Douglas Williams vs. Abyss: Very rushed match.

Double J Double M A challenge: Very funny segment as usual.

Mickie James vs. Tara: A very good cage match.

Outside of the cage match, most of this show was very bad.

Grade: D

12/16/10 Impact

Opening segment: Your typical Immortal promo that made the main event.

Jay Lethal vs. Robbie E: Pretty good match with Lethal winning the belt.

Orlando Jordan/Eric Young vs. Generation Me: Eh match with OJ/EY actually winning.

Madison Rayne/Tara vs. Mickie James/Miss Tessmacher: Not a great match as Tessmacher was VERY green.

Brother Ray vs. Amazing Red: Squash.

Rob Van Dam vs. Rob Terry: Terrible match.

Double J Double M A segment: Very funny segment as usual.

Jeff Hardy/Kazarian vs. Matt Morgan/Mr. Anderson: Not a great main event.

Very poor show as the matches were very weak and the booking was questionable as usual.

Grade: D

12/23/10 Impact

Opening segment: Your typical Immortal promo.

Double J Double M A segment: As awesome as usual with Jarrett destroying Amazing Red and congratulating him on having a good showing.

Kazarian vs. Max Buck vs. Jeremy Buck vs. Robbie E: Solid match.

Madison Rayne/Tara vs. Beautiful People: Velvet is laid out and can't compete so Angelina competes in a bad handicap match until Winter comes in to become her partner, and they win the KO tag titles.

AJ Styles vs. Dougas Williams: Very good TV title match.

Motor City Machine Guns/Matt Morgan/Rob Van Dam vs. Jeff Hardy/Abyss/Beer Money: Very good main event.

Much better show than the last couple weeks.

Grade: B

12/30/10 Impact

Opening segment: Very dull segment that made the main event.

Robert Roode vs. Chris Sabin: Very solid match.

Rob Van Dam vs. Robbie E: Absolute squash match.

Kazarian promo: Not very good though it built his feud with Lethal.

Sarita vs. Velvet Sky: Terrible strap match.

Double J Double M A segment: Pretty good segment that debuted Crimson.

AJ Styles/Rob Terry vs. Douglas Williams/Magnus: Pretty solid match as Terry was barely in the match.

Madison/Mickie promo: A very good segment to build their feud.

Matt Morgan/Devon vs. Mr. Anderson/Brother Ray: Very boring main event.

A very weak show... bad matches and full of lame OJ/EY comedy skits.

Grade: D+
